Marissa Perez-Garcia graduated from St. Mary's University in San Antonio with a B.A. in Political Science and English Magna Cum Laude. She received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law where she was a writer with the Legal Research Board.
She came to the Federal Public Defender office in 1991 after working for the Staff Counsel for Inmates at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Marissa is board certified in Criminal Law. She currently is serving as the Branch Chief for the Laredo Division supervising a staff of 16 attorneys, 4 investigators and 8 support staff members.
