Peter Bray Receives 2014 Michael Shelby Award

Assistant Federal Public Defender Peter J. Bray received the 2014 Michael Taylor Shelby Award for outstanding dedication, ethics and professionalism in the practice of law by a federal attorney.  The award is given annually by the Federal Bar Association.

Established in 2006 in memory of Michael Taylor Shelby, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Texas, 2001 to 2005, the award consists of a plaque to the attorney and recognition in the attorney lounge at the federal courthouse in Houston. The award was given at the 2014 Federal Bar Association, Southern District of Texas Chapter’s annual dinner, held on November 20, 2014, in Houston.

Mr. Bray was nominated by United States District Judges Keith Ellison and Sim Lake.  Peter is a humble and dedicated attorney and, as Judge Lake expressed in giving him the award, is a constant advocate.
